Case Evaluation for Clients with Prior Records

A prior criminal record (any country, any offence type) does not automatically rule out Ecuador residency. It does mean we have to read the documents before we can tell you what is realistic.

This page describes a free 15-minute call for that purpose. You bring your FBI background report (or home-country equivalent); we give you an honest read on what is possible and what it would cost.

We are based in Cuenca and assist clients with visa matters throughout Ecuador.

What we need before the call

Please have these four facts ready when you book, or move the appointment until you do. Without the background report there is nothing for us to read on the call.

1. Your FBI background report

PDF or photo is fine. If you do not have one yet, request it at fbi.gov. Typical turnaround is 3 to 4 weeks. UK, Canadian, Australian, and other home-country equivalents are accepted for non-US applicants.

2. Dates of any offences

Year and month is sufficient. Approximate is fine where the record itself is imprecise.

3. Country where each offence occurred

Different jurisdictions interact with Ecuador immigration law differently, so this matters more than the offence label itself.

4. Current status of the matter

Closed, served, on probation, or pending. If pending, the current expected timeline.

What happens after the call

Within 24 hours you receive a written quote or a written decline. If we take the case, the fee will be either a flat fee or a flat fee plus retainer drawn against an hourly rate, depending on the documentation work the case requires. We do not quote totals or estimate timelines in writing until the documents have been reviewed on the call.

If we decline, we tell you why in writing. A decline is not a judgment about the applicant; it is a judgment about whether we are the right firm for the matter.
